Cavite was close to losing steam after a dominating first set as it had to come back from 16-23 down to win the second frame and had to stop Maybank in a closely fought third set. Adam Aidam and Joven Camaganakan had 11 points each to lead the Patriots’ charge.
The PLDT Home Telpad-Philippine Air Force Turbo Boosters breezed to the finals after sweeping the Maybank Tigers, 25-19, 25-21, 25-21, in the first men’s division semifinals match.
JP Torres, who only entered in the second set, topped the PLDT-Air Force with 12 points. Five players scored five markers each, namely, Ron Jay Galang, Alnakran Abdilla, Jayson Ramos, Kheeno Franco, and Henry Pecana.
The Turbo Boosters so much dominated the match that the only time the Tigers were in contention was from the beginning up to the middle part of the second set. Coach Jasper Jimenez even had the luxury of utilizing his entire roster with all players save for setter Jessie Lopez and liberos Gilbert Longavela and Arvin Avila contributing points to the cause.
