Games Today at Ynares Sports Arena Pasig
4 p.m. – Generika-Ayala vs Cignal
6 p.m. – F2 Logistics vs Sta. Lucia

Powerhouse F2 Logistics shoots for a spot in the semifinals when it clashes with lowly Sta. Lucia in the quarterfinals of the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference today at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Game time is at 6 p.m. with the Cargo Movers looking to join Petron and Foton in the Final Four of this prestigious women’s club league tourney that has Team Rebel Sports, SOGO, Eurotel, PCSO, Cocolife, UCPB Gen, Mueller, Senoh, Asics, Bizooku and One Sport as sponsors.

Also gunning for a spot in the next round are Generika-Ayala and Cignal, who will tangle in the 4 p.m. encounter.

After finishing the preliminaries with a commanding 13-1 win-loss card, the Blaze Spikers easily punched a ticket to the semifinals after crushing rookie team Marinerang Pilipina in straight sets, 25-18, 25-13, 25-11, while Foton followed suit with a four-set domination of PLDT Home Fibr, 16-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-12, late Thursday.

F2 Logistics, meanwhile, suffered stinging losses to Petron and PLDT to blemish its immaculate card before restoring order with an emphatic win over Cignal at the end of the preliminaries.

Head coach Ramil de Jesus said they would take the Lady Realtors seriously with Filipino-American spiker Kalei Mau, Aby Maraño, Majoy Baron and the returning Kim Fajardo leading the way.

“The most dangerous opponents are those with nothing-to-lose and everything-to-gain mentality,” said de Jesus, referring to the Lady Realtors, who finished the preliminaries with a 2-12 win-loss mark despite parading a rock-solid lineup led by MJ Philips, Jho Maraguinot, Rebecca Rivera, Pam Lastimosa, Amanda Villanueva and Amy Ahomiro.

“Definitely, we won’t take them lightly. We know that anyone in this competition is capable of achieving something big.”

Should the Cargo Movers emerge victorious, it would battle Foton armed with a twice-to-beat incentive in the semifinals. On the same note, Petron will also have an edge in the next round against the survivor between Cignal and Generika-Ayala.

“We won’t look too far ahead of us,” de Jesus said. “The most important thing to do right now is to focus on what’s ahead of us.”
