“This is the turning point in our campaign. I told the team that if we win over Petron, our morale will get a boost,” said Cignal coach George Pascua, whose wards lost to the Blaze Spikers in their first meeting.
“That setback should serve as a learning experience to us. It means that we still have more to improve as team. I’m glad that we pulled it through.”
The HD Spikers need to win its final assignment against another powerhouse in RC Cola-Army to clinch the remaining berth in the final round. Should they fall short, idle F2 Logistics will take the last seat after the Lady Troopers and Tri-Activ Spikers formally joined Est Cola of Thailand in the final four.
It’s a mission which Cignal coach Sammy Acaylar believes is very doable.
“Whatever happens, gusto talaga namin manalo,” he said. “We will analyze the strong and weak points of RC Cola-Army. Alam naman natin na they are one of the winningest teams, kahit anong mangyari, ammbisyunin talaga namin na talunin sila.”
