Profile

Bangkok Glass Volleyball Club (BGVC), managed by BGFC Sport Company Limited, was founded in 2014 with the mission of the prudential executive members who badly need to promote professionalism in every sporting event aside from developing the Thai sports circle for wider acceptance, sustainable growth and international impact. To achieve the ultimate target, BGVC laid down a well-established basis and used strategies to build up a strong team with promising future, strengthened by a quality teamwork with professionalism including the management team, dedicated staff coaches and potential players. The club’s main competition venue BG Hall, which has met FIVB standards, has also played a vital role in leading to a great success of the team.

In July 2014, the inauguration to mark the official commencement of Bangkok Glass VC was the club’s debut participation in the Pro Challenge 2014 (Division 1). With the full potentiality of their working staff and players as well as the die-hard fan clubs, Bangkok Glass VC took a giant step into stardom by capturing the title with an unbeaten record on the very first year they took part in, resulting in their pride for being promoted to the country’s most prestigious volleyball tournament Thailand League 2014-2015. This achievement has been regarded as a successful first step of Bangkok Glass VC which later led to a very powerful dominant basis of the team.

In October the same year, Bangkok Glass VC tested their mettle in the top-flight Volleyball Thailand League 2014-2015, using the home venue FIVB-standard BG Hall with a seating capacity of 2,250 for the first time. In this first season, Bangkok Glass VC have proven themselves as an excellent all-round professional in establishing an accomplished volleyball club. At the end of the Volleyball Thailand League in March 2015, Bangkok Glass VC underlined their supremacy over the top-notch competition after winning 12 of 14 matches contested.

In September 2015, Bangkok Glass VC, as the champions of the Volleyball Thailand League 2014-2015, received the green light to take part in the 2015 Asian Women’s Club Championship in Ha Nam, Vietnam. There, the formidable “Rabbit Women” made their mark and successfully rewrote another chapter of the Thai volleyball history by emerging as the first-ever Thailand club, and not the national women’s team, to capture the Asian crown and secure a berth to contest the 2016 FIVB Women’s Club World Championship.

Following the team’s exceptional performances to win all major competitions they had participated just in one year, the high-functioning Bangkok Glass VC are very determined to continually grow and develop their team apart from stretching an aura of invincibility to maintain their stranglehold on the Volleyball Thailand League 2015-2016, matching the ideas for the “BGVC REPEATS” team theme which aims to repeat the feat as “The Champions” for more years to come.
