Prochina Spreads Culture of Winning to Mane ‘N Tail

Mane ‘N Tail will march to the Philippine Superliga (PSL) All-Filipino Conference this Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena with a weapon far more explosive than everybody else on the floor. Her name is Rosemary Prochina.

A member of the National Team that won the gold medal in the 1993 Singapore Southeast Asian Games, Prochina will call the shots for Mane ‘N Tail, bringing with her a wealth of experience and overflowing words of wisdom that can push the Lady Stallions to greater heights.

Prochina will be assisted by Zenaida Ybanez-Chavez — a key stalwart in that legendary squad which miraculously won over Thailand in the finals to complete the country’s sixth consecutive golden finish in the biennial meet.
PSL president Ramon “Tats” Suzara served as the team’s head coach.

“It was the golden age of volleyball in the country,” said Prochina, who went on to join the Philippine Navy after that impressive title run in the regional stage. “And that’s what I want to instill on my team. I want to share with them my rich experience and create a winning mentality. It’s all about embracing a certain culture, a winning culture, to emerge successful.”

It wouldn’t be difficult for Prochina to reach her goal.

Former Cignal HD Spikers Honey Royse Tubino, Abigail Praca, Danika Gendrauli, Lilet Mabbayad, Norie Diaz and Arianne Argarin will banner the Lady Stallions in their quest of a crown against strong teams like Petron and Philips Gold.

They will be assisted by rookies Marleen Cortel of Adamson and Samantha Dawson of Far Eastern University as well as Therese Veronas, Jill Gustillo, Cendymei Amad, Mariel Desengano, Angelica Perez and Khristine Basco.
“We’re a new team. We are still a work in progress, but we’re getting there,” Prochina said. “But I really like my team. It is a mixture of rookies and veterans who are passionate in what they’re doing. I don’t want to put pressure on them, but we’re all looking forward to a productive conference ahead.”

Mane ‘N Tail opens its campaign against Shopinas on March 26 at the Cuneta Astrodome.
